CUFF.Docs Opening Night: Ladies and Gentlemen, Brian Mulroney
Verified: confirmed by the organization
Matthew Rankin’s archive-collage portrait of Brian Mulroney opens CUFF.Docs 2026 at Globe Cinema, with the director in attendance.
CUFF.Docs 2026 opens on Wednesday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Globe Cinema with LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BRIAN MULRONEY, the third feature from Canadian director Matthew Rankin (THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE). Rankin remixes some 80,000 pieces of archive into a genre-bending collage of VHS-era Canadiana, following Canada’s 18th prime minister from his win over Joe Clark into a new kind of 1980s conservatism. The film won the People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. CUFF says Rankin will attend the screening. The end time shown is an estimate; check the official programme for the running time. CUFF lists tickets at $12, or $10 for members, students and seniors. 5-Film Packs and Festival Passes also cover CUFF.Docs screenings. Check the official site for availability.
